The top priority of energy policy of our state is the increase of the efficiency of energy consumption as a means of reduction of energy supply costs, ensuring sustainable development of the country, raising competitive capacity of productive forces, and protecting the environment. This is why the energy branch is always under full supervision of the President and the Government of Belarus. During recent years, the Concept of Sustainable Development National Strategy and the Basic Trends of Belarusian Energy Policy have been developed and adopted by the supreme power organs. On June 14, 2007 the presidential directive no. 3, "Economy is a Main Factor of Economic Safety of the State" was signed. In support of this directive from December 8 to 24, the Information Center of the Republic Scientific Technical Library represents an exposition called, "Energy Saving Policy of Belarus", as part of the permanent exhibition on energy saving issues. The exposition features books and periodicals from the collection of scientific technical literature of RLST and Sustainable Development Library. Aiming to cover the subject to the utmost we exhibit such editions as "Republic of Belarus: Systems Concepts of Sustainable Development," "Energy Supply Saving: New Solutions," "Energy Saving Basics," magazines: "Power Efficiency," "Energy Saving," early reports of International Agency on Nuclear Energy, Recommendations on the Development of Technical and Economic Assessment of Energy Saving Measures," and other literature of interest to the library readers.
