The Republican library for science and technology celebrated the professional holiday the Inventors and Rationalizers Day of the Republic of Belarus with the inventors, its regular readers, recalling the name of the famous Belarusian scientist Jakov (Ottonovich) Narkevich-Iodko (1847-1905), the native of village Nadneman of Uzdensk region, who is a prominent researcher, experimentalist and theoretician of environmental physical processes, who accomplished the first thunder electromagnetic signals reception, meteorologist and phenologist, an adherent of large-scale usage of electric culture techniques in agricultural technology. He is also an organizer and manager of his own sanatorium, propagandist of healthy lifestyle.

Energy economy is an actual problem for any country. On 14th June 2007 the Directive of president of the Republic of Belarus №3 "Economy and thrift are the main factors of economic security of a state" was signed. In support of this Directive there is an exhibition "Energy Saving" in the Republican library for science and technology from 25th June till 9th July 2007. It exhibits the state standards of RB, interstate standards, national standards of RF and other documents.

June 6 - 8, 2007 the Republican library for science and technology participated in the 4th international specialized exhibition "Rescue facilities. Fire and industrial safety". Minister of Emergency Control of the Republic of Belarus E.R.Bariev conferred diploma upon the library for organizing the exposition of printings and documents on fire safety.
