The visiting session of the State Committee of Science and Technologies took place in the Republican Library for Science and Technologies. The principle results (2001-2005) and prospects (2006-2010) of RLST and its oblast branches development were considered.


Before the sitting the board members directly acquainted themselves with the work of the Library departments. There was a businesslike approach to the discussion of various questions and a number of decisions was taken. They will contribute to the better work of RLST and its branches in the Republic regions on information-library support of innovation activity in the real sector of the country economy.

A presentation of "Wiley" book publishing house (USA) - a leading world publishing house - will take place in Information center of RLST at 15.00. This publishing house is specialized on publications of books and periodicals on the questions of computers, electric engineering, mechanics, communication, architecture, design, medicine, business. There are about 22.7000 titles of books, 400 titles of periodicals including 350 titles on electronics on the credit of this publishing house.
The presentation program envisages a report by Mr. Reiner Klimesch, a representative of the publishing house, and a training "Magazines, books and electronic resources from "Wiley" publishing house".
Specialists of scientific-technical libraries and information services are invited to attend this action.

This will be interesting for the specialists in the sphere of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, heat and cold supply, thermal insulation, microclimate of buildings and structures. RLST received AVOK standards. They have been developed with the aim to raise the levels of design, construction and maintenance and to use modern technologies in heating-ventilating techniques. One can read these publications in the reading hall of normative-technical documents (room 504).

The school of a library manager - a new direction in the activity of the RLST Scientific-organizational and methodical work.
On the 2d November the school of a library manager conducted the lessons in the Mogilev Scientific-technical Library. The same actions took place in all oblast centers for the workers of scientific-technical libraries of Belarus.
